Plastic fantastic: our favourite Melissa shoes
Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at 5:20PM When Zaha Hadid collaborated with plastic shoe manufacturing extraordinaires Melissa, the partnership resulted in some seriously fancy footwear.
Zaha Hadid's architectural shoe design for Brazilian brand Melissa
We loved these shoes (above) and featured the purple version in our book Plastic Dreams, written by FIELL founders Charlotte & Peter Fiell. This combination of architecture and footwear made a unique statement, a fluid and organic but entirely modern shape that Melissa stated as addressing "the perception of wearing the shoe in motion rather than a static display on a shopping window."

Welcome to our blog
Monday, January 10, 2011 at 8:27PM This is the new home for all the latest news from FIELL books.
We will be bringing you the stories behind the books, interviews with our authors, and other stuff we like that we think you might like. You can post a comment too, so don't be afraid to tell us what you think.
FIELL has only been going since April 2010, so we are still a young company. We welcome your feedback.
For now, we leave you with a question: are these the coolest grandparents ever? In this clip Eames Demetrios pays an affectionate tribute to his endlessly creative grandparents Charles & Ray Eames.
We have a very exclusive Eames book in the pipeline, more on that later.
